Yoga taught with care & attention

I teach yoga in the New Forest and Waterside area of Hampshire, working with individuals and small groups who are looking for something steady and considered.

Over time, many people find their bodies change -through injury, hormonal shifts, stress or simply the passing of years…

My work is about meeting the body as it is now, rather than trying to return it to something it once was.

Yoga, for me, is not performance. It is a practice of attention.

Training and lineage

My teaching is rooted in the tradition of Krishnamacharya and TKV Desikachar, where the individual is always placed at the centre of the practice.

This approach emphasises adaptation, breath and gradual progression. The practice is shaped around the person, not the other way round.

Time spent studying in India deepened my understanding of yoga within its cultural and philosophical context. Being there reinforced something simple but important: yoga is subtle. It is not about mastering shapes, but about cultivating steadiness and awareness.

I continue to study regularly. Philosophy, chanting, meditation and therapeutic application all inform the way I teach. It is an ongoing process of learning.

Why I teach

I have met many people who quietly stepped away from yoga because it no longer felt accessible.

Classes can be fast. Spaces can feel crowded. There can be an unspoken sense that you should already be flexible, strong or confident.

I teach for those who want something different.

  • People who want to understand why their shoulder hurts.

  • People adjusting to a new stage of life, in whatever form that takes.

  • People who have been carrying something difficult…

What you can expect from me is careful observation and thoughtful adaptation. I will explain why we are practising in a particular way, and how it supports you. There is no expectation to achieve a particular shape.

Progress is measured in steadiness, not spectacle.
